Pete Williams is a multimedia journalist best known for his work covering fitness and endurance sports over the last decade. He’s the author, co-author, or ghostwriter of a number of books, including the five-book Core Performance franchise with Mark Verstegen, who revolutionized the fitness industry with his groundbreaking Core Performance training system. Williams also collaborated with Jay Cardiello on Cardio Core 4x4 (Rodale, 2012) and with Brody Welte on Paddle Fit, a video “vook” on stand-up paddleboarding (Vook, 2011).
Williams has written about fitness and endurance sports for a number of media outlets, including Men’s Health, Competitor, CorePerformance.com, and USA Triathlon. He has hosted The Fitness Buff Radio Show since 2005, first on a Tampa Bay radio station and since 2008 online on BlogTalkRadio.com. An avid runner, triathlete, stand-up paddleboarder, and NASM-certified personal trainer, Williams also is the creator and editor of EnduranceSportsFlorida.com. He provides weekly fitness tips and insight on WFTS Channel 28, ABC’s television affiliate in Tampa Bay.
Williams began his career as a baseball writer for USA Today and later wrote extensively for SportsBusiness Journal, The Washington Post, and The New York Times, also working in television as a sports anchor and reporter before turning his attention to fitness. His other books include the definitive insider accounts of the NFL Draft (The Draft) and trading card industry (Card Sharks), along with Sports Memorabilia for Dummies, and Fun is Good, a business motivational book with baseball marketer Mike Veeck.
A Virginia native and a graduate of the University of Virginia, Williams lives in the Tampa Bay area with his family.
